La economía es una ciencia social que tiene como propósito estudiar la forma de administrar los recursos a fin de satisfacer las necesidades humanas en un entorno social cada día más complejo. Este artículo, de enfoque cualitativo, busca analizar la correlación del salario mínimo real y el consumo de los hogares en Colombia desde el ámbito económico, realizando un análisis de los argumentos expuestos por las corrientes de pensamiento económico neoclásico y poskeynesiano que permite proponer un esquema lógico basado en el modelo kaleckiano ajustado al contexto específico colombiano.
